Mitsui is the partner of IPC to operated Container Terminal

, Jakarta: PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) II set Mitsui & Co. Ltd. of Japan as the preferred bidder to operate the container terminal at the terminal Kalibaru, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta.

"Mitsui is the first partner selected for New Terminal Priok for the construction, financing, and operation," said Richard Joost Lino, president director Pelindo II in a press release on Wednesday (27/2).

According to Lino, Pelindo II agreement between Mitsui will drive operation of the ship in one container terminal in Kalibaru in September 2014.

"Kalibaru terminal will double the capacity of handling containers (container handling) at Tanjung Priok," he said.
He explained Kalibaru Terminal will be the first terminal in Indonesia are able to serve the largest container ships that exist today.

Furthermore, the terminal also allows it to serve Kalibaru sized Aframax tanker for tethered at Tanjung Priok.
"In the process of partner selection operator, Rothschild, Norton Rose and David Wignall Associates has served as an advisor IPC, while Herbert Smith Freehills, Ernst & Young and became advisor Portek Mitsui," he said.

Pelindo II, said Lino, will also be a partner for two container terminals and terminal petroleum / fuel. Investments allocated for the construction of Container Terminal Kalibaru approximately U.S. $ 2.5 billion, or about Rp24 trillion. (Wibowo / ADF)
