Cirebon, 11 November 2019 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) / IPC with an environmentally friendly community forum called the Employee Social Responsibility (ESR IPC) took to the field and invited residents to clean up trash around the port area. This activity was carried out thoroughly in 12 IPC Branch Offices, starting from the Cirebon Branch IPC.
"In Cirebon, IPC employees who care about the environment or called ESR IPC invited around 300 residents who live around the port to clean the river. This is part of the IPC Care activity, which is an IPC Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, "said General Manager of the Cirebon Branch of IPC, Udin Mahmudin, Monday (11/11).
Udin explained, IPC implemented the Cash Intensive Work program, where residents were deliberately involved in activities to protect their own environment. In addition to getting long-term benefits from cleaning the environment, the people involved also receive short-term benefits from the CCP program, including facilities and equipment for cleanliness in their respective environments.
"Overall in 12 IPC Port Branches, there were around 3,600 residents involved," Udin explained.
The cleared area extends about 3 kilometers around the port. In that area now garbage bins are prepared to maintain environmental cleanliness.
"ESR IPC also collaborates with young leaders of the local area to campaign for a healthy lifestyle, by getting used to throwing garbage in the trash. ESR IPC has its own approach in campaigning, together with utilizing social media, "he said.
